The GenShed Generator Shelter is a rigid, durable enclosure in which to store and operate a portable generator up to 7500 watts for backup power applications when connected to a transfer switch. The GenShed Shelter provides secure, lockable, out-of-the-way protection of a portable generator from weather and theft during operation and storage. It frees up space in your garage or basement for other items. Kit includes all components and an integrated floor for assembly in less than an hour. An internal blower fan connects to standard 120 volt receptacle on the generator to introduce fresh air to the generator engine, and only runs while the generator is operating. Exhaust fumes and heat exit the enclosure via a patent-pending magnetic exhaust system. Additional heat is dissipated through louvers mounted on the sides and back of the enclosure. A high-temperature sensor switch is included to shut off generator in case of overheating. Accessing your generator for starting, refueling and servicing is a cinch by raising the roof and opening the doors. Using a generator in the GenShed shelter may reduce engine noise by as much as 10 db, mitigating noise pollution around your neighborhood. Ideal for gasoline or diesel-powered generators as well as portable generators fueled by propane or natural gas. Physical dimensions of portable generator must not exceed 28 by 40 by 28-inches (width by length by height). Weight of generator (with full gas tank) shall not exceed 500 pounds. All components included in the GenShed shelter kit must be installed in order for it to operate as designed and to avoid property damage or personal injury. Not all portable generators are compatible with the GenShed shelter. Your portable generator must have a tubular pipe and/or single exhaust hole and a steel exhaust cavity for the magnet to work. Baffled exhausts or exhaust points with perforated metal holes or louvers will not work with the GenShed shelter. Also, some older or inexpensive generators do not include an oil Level or low oil switch. If your generator does not have an oil level switch, GenTran does not recommend using it with the GenShed shelter, and will not warranty the product. GenTran assumes no responsibility for property damage, injury or accidents resulting from installations when the high temperature sensor switch is not used.
