Giant Java Black Bamboo- (Gigantochloa atroviolacea)-This is a rare much sought after clumping Black Bamboo type that is native to Indonesia. Once established it is hardy in zones 8-11. It can grow to a height of 50 feet with a 4 foot spread. It's Black clums remain black after harvesting and can get up to 4 inches in diameter. Used for the making of musical instruments and furniture it is becoming more rare because of over harvesting in it's native countries.
