This brass armillary stands about 11" tall with a 5" diameter base. The globe has about a 7" diameter. It has a beautiful antique brass finish. It features unique astronomical engravings such as the zodiac symbols.
It is a stunning decor piece to add to a nautical or science collection.
Armillary spheres were used to illustrate the relation of the earth to the sun, moon and other celestial bodies. The first models featured a globe in the center to represent earth, but they changed as man's knowledge of the universe expanded.
